The sixth forum of the presidents of top universities of Iran and Russia started at Lomonosov University in Moscow on April 27, 2023, with the presence of Prof. Aghamiri, president of Shahid Beheshti University (SBU).
This forum, which is planned to expand and deepen international cooperation in scientific, research and academic fields, was inaugurated at Lomonosov University in Moscow.
In the inauguration, Prof. Aghamiri, president of SBU; president of University of Tehran and chairman of the forum of the presidents of top Iranian universities, and Prof. Viktor Sadovnichy, rector of Lomonosov Moscow State University, presented their speeches.
Andrei Fursenko, aide to the president of the Russian Federation, Valery Nikolayevich Falkov, minister of science and higher education of the Russian Federation, Alexey Yurievich Dedov, Russian ambassador to Tehran, and Dr. Kazem Jalali, Iranian ambassador to Russia, will speak at this forum.
During the forum, there will be a meeting to exchange views on academic cooperation between the top universities of Iran and Russia in the fields of student exchange, joint programs and research projects, meetings on examining the cultural aspects of cooperation between Iranian and Russian universities and sharing the experiences of Iranian and Russian research projects in the fields of natural sciences and the Caspian Sea, with the presence of the presidents of top Iranian and Russian universities.
Some other programs of the university presidents participating in this forum include visiting the faculties and museums of Lomonosov University and visiting other universities in Moscow.
24 top universities of Russia and 15 top universities of Iran have attended this forum. The Iranian university presidents are from Shahid Beheshti University, University of Tehran, Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Allameh Tabataba'i University, Sharif University of Technology, University of Science and Technology of Iran, K. N. Toosi University of Technology, Amirkabir University of Technology, Tarbiat Modares University, University of Tabriz, University of Isfahan, Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Isfahan University of Technology, Shiraz university and Alzahra University.
It is worth mentioning that since 2015, the secretariat of the forum of the presidents of top universities of Iran and Russia has been established in University of Tehran with the aim of developing academic cooperation between Iran and Russia, and so far, five joint forums have been held with the presence of academic officials of the two countries.
