The 26th Exhibition of Research and Technology Achievements and Tech Bazaar, held concurrently with the 13th Iran-made Exhibition of Advanced Laboratory Equipment, Materials, Testing, and Measurement, officially opened at the Tehran International Permanent Fairground in the presence of the Minister of Science, Research and Technology, senior ministry officials, presidents of universities across the country, and a number of international guests.
According to the Public Relations Office of Shahid Beheshti University, the event aims to showcase the country’s research and technological capabilities and to expand the market for knowledge-based products. It provides an effective platform for interaction among universities, research institutes, technology-based companies, and industry.
At the opening ceremony, Dr. Bahrami, Head of the Strategic Center for Knowledge-Based Economy Development Headquarters, emphasized the strategic importance of laboratory equipment in scientific development, stating that such equipment constitutes the core infrastructure for technological progress. He noted that advancement in fields such as nanotechnology, photonics, quantum technologies, and artificial intelligence would not be possible without adequate laboratory infrastructure.
He added that over the past 12 editions of the Iran-made Exhibition, supportive measures such as purchase subsidies and leasing programs have resulted in approximately 250 trillion rials in sales for knowledge-based companies, created employment for more than 7,000 specialized professionals, and prevented the direct outflow of over USD 200 million in foreign currency from the country.
According to Dr. Bahrami, the number of participating companies has increased from around 100 companies in the first edition to more than 1,000 companies, while the number of products on display has grown from 1,000 models to over 20,000 models.
In the 13th edition of the Iran-made Exhibition, more than 270 knowledge-based and technology companies are presenting approximately 9,000 product models. To enhance corporate resilience, purchase subsidies have been increased. The program also includes the 5th Industrial Design Festival, specialized B2B meetings, and hosting of foreign delegations and science and technology attachés.
Continuing the ceremony, Dr. Abtahi, Deputy Minister for Research at the Ministry of Science, stressed the importance of strengthening university–industry collaboration. He stated that the Knowledge-Based Production Leap Law must be implemented in a way that promotes open innovation and enables industry to effectively leverage the capacities of universities and science and technology parks.
He also announced a revised approach to organizing the Research and Technology Achievements Exhibition, explaining that in this edition, the achievements of more than 70 universities, research institutes, and research centers are presented across 12 specialized pavilions focusing on future-oriented fields such as artificial intelligence, electronics and photonics, water and environmental studies, and renewable energy.
These exhibitions are being held from December 13 to 16, concurrent with National Research Week, at the Tehran International Permanent Fairground and are open to the public.
Notably, Shahid Beheshti University is participating actively and purposefully in the 26th International Exhibition of Research, Technology, and Tech Bazaar 2025, presenting a wide range of its scientific, research, and technological achievements at Hall 5, Booth 3.
