The soft computing laboratory of the Faculty of Mathematical Sciences of Shahid Beheshti University (SBU) was inaugurated with the presence of Prof. Aghamiri, the president of the university, three prominent scientists of Xi'an Polytechnic University of China and some officials and faculty members of the Faculty of Mathematical Sciences and researchers of the soft computing laboratory.
The scientific field of soft computing is a theoretical and applied research field that includes the theory of fuzzy systems, neural networks, artificial intelligence and meta-heuristic algorithms that are used to control complex and imprecise systems.
Based on the memorandum signed between the presidents of Shahid Beheshti University and Xi'an Polytechnic University, this laboratory was launched with the efforts of Dr. Rajab Ali Borzouei, a member of the Faculty of Mathematical Sciences and the support of Dr. Hajarian, the dean of the Faculty of Mathematical Sciences.
The purpose of this laboratory is to promote and develop research in the field of neural networks, artificial intelligence and fuzzy systems theory in the university and in the country. In the opening ceremony of this laboratory, Dr. Rajab Ali Borzouei, the head of the laboratory, presented a report on the establishment process, the method and amount of collecting the required credits, and the manner of cooperation of the Chinese scientists in this laboratory. Then, Prof. Ma, representative of Xi'an Polytechnic University, gave a report about his university and how to cooperate with the laboratory. Inviting the president of SBU to attend the Xi'an Polytechnic University, he proposed comprehensive development and cooperation in all scientific fields with SBU.
Expressing his satisfaction with the establishment and launch of this laboratory and thanking the head of the laboratory and the dean of the faculty, Prof. Aghamiri emphasized the necessity of developing this important field, especially artificial intelligence in SBU and suggested that some related faculties cooperate with this laboratory in the future. Welcoming the guests from Xi'an Polytechnic University, he invited the president of this university to attend SBU in order to develop scientific and international cooperation.
