Shahid Beheshti University (SBU) has been upgraded by 100 steps in the latest results of the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025.
Dr. Mehri Hamidi, Vice President for Research and Technology of SBU, announced this achievement and added: “Over the past few years, SBU’s global ranking has seen remarkable improvement.”
Examining the growing trend of the university in the QS ranking system, she said: “In 2023, the university was placed in the 1001-1200 range, which then improved to 951-1000 in 2024. Continuing this upward trend, SBU now occupies the 851-900 range in 2025.”
Explaining the evaluation indicators in the QS ranking system, the vice president for research said: “QS global ranking methodology is designed based on a wide range of academic activities. This system evaluates universities based on nine key indicators. These include: university reputation (30% weight), employer evaluation (15% weight), proportion of international faculty members (5% weight), proportion of international students (5% weight), citations per faculty member (20% weight), faculty-to-student ratio (10% weight), international research network (5% weight), graduate employment (5% weight), and sustainable development (5% weight).”
