Based on 2020-2021 ISC ranking of universities and research institutes of Iran, Shahid Beheshti University was ranked fourth among comprehensive universities and seventh among comprehensive and technology universities.
In this ranking, general criteria in the evaluation of universities and higher education institutions include education (with a weight of 30%), research (with a weight of 25%), technology and innovation (with a weight of 20%), internationalization (with a weight of 10%), economic impact (with a weight of 10%) and social services, infrastructure and facilities (with a weight of 5%). Each of these main criteria is divided into a number of main indicators and sub-indices, and the university's performance in each of them is evaluated separately.
The information required for ranking the universities and research institutes is collected in three ways: research information that is collected by the ISC ranking group, self-declaration of the universities, which is obtained by completing the electronic ranking questionnaire by the contacts in the universities, and some educational information provided to the rating group through the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology or affiliated organizations.
110 Iranian universities were evaluated in 2020-2021 ISC ranking. Both research data and questionnaire data cover the period 2017-2019.
