The robotics team of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering (Electronics and Communication) of Shahid Beheshti University (Auriga) won the first place of the self-driving car league in the 17th Iran Open RoboCup 2023.
The members of the Auriga team, consisting of Farbod Younesi, Mohsen Sharifi, Soroush Keivanfard, Erfan Amouzad Khalili, Mohammad Ghodrati, Mana Hatamzadeh, Kiarash Ghasemzadeh, Mohammad Reza Jafari, Amirreza Akramifard, Mehdi Khaksar, Hossein Gohari, Saba Sadeghi and Amirhossein Kheiri, the undergraduate students of SBU. The team won the first place in the self-driving car league. The head of the team is Dr. Mohammad Hossein Moayeri, faculty member of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering.
RoboCup, or the World Cup of Robots, is an international project to promote artificial intelligence and robotics knowledge. The RoboCup World Federation is trying to develop artificial intelligence and intelligent robots research by proposing a standard problem whose scope calls for participation and testing of all existing technologies.
Iran Open RoboCup international competition was held in April 2023 with more than 800 participants hosted by the Islamic Azad University, Science and Research Branch.
