The robotics team of the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering of Shahid Beheshti University (R3CESBU) won the third place of the 2D football simulation league in the 17th Iran Open RoboCup 2023 and the quota for World RoboCup France 2023.
The members of the R3CESBU team include Mohammad Hesam Nasiri, Seyed Hasan Majid Zonouzi, Arya Parvizi, Seyed Mostafa Atyabi, Sanaz Mousapour, Seyedeh Rana Rokni, Mahan Veisi, Kiarash Kosari and Mohammad Reza Mohammadzadeh. The head of the team is Dr. Armin Salimi Badr, faculty member of the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering.
The football simulation league is the world's oldest robotic competition league. This competition has been established since 1996. The R3CESBU team of the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering participated for the first time in the Iran Open RoboCup, which was held from 26th to 28th of April 2023, along with famous teams from China, Brazil and Germany, and managed to win the third place of the league.
