MoC signed between Faculty of Sports Sciences and Sultan Idris Education University

Shahid Beheshti University (SBU) and Sultan Idris Education University of Malaysia signed a memorandum of cooperation (MoC) on April 2, 2024.
This memorandum was signed by Dr. Jaffry Zakaria, dean of the Faculty of Sports Sciences and Coaching of Sultan Idris Education University, and Dr. Alireza Farsi, dean of the Faculty of Sports Sciences and Health of SBU.
This memorandum refers to the active participation of both universities in scientific and research cooperation through the joining of staff and students to university programs, joint research, joint publications, and the organization of conferences, and it emphasizes the cooperation on physical education, sports science, sports rehabilitation and the relevant fields that are agreed upon by the parties.
As a representative of SBU, Dr. Amir Hossein Barati, associate professor of the sport rehabilitation and health department of SBU and head of the health and injury prevention department of Iran’s National Paralympic Committee, visited Sultan Idris University of Malaysia and met with Dr. Jaffry Zakaria, dean, Dr. Nur Haziyanti, deputy dean of education, Dr. Ali Nadzalan, deputy dean of research and innovation of the Faculty of Sports Sciences and Coaching, and a number of professors, coaches and postgraduate students of this faculty.
According to Barati, this trip was aimed at concluding an MoC as well as presenting lectures and exchanging experiences regarding the evaluation and preparation of athletes with the approach of preventing sports injuries.
Sultan Idris Education University of Malaysia was established in 1922 with the aim of expanding knowledge, skills and experience through teaching and learning, research, publication, negotiation and social services, promoting human capital development and creating up-to-date changes at the domestic and international level in the field of education. This university has about 30,000 students, 950 faculty members, 2,000 employees, 10 faculties, 5 sports centers, preschool education, development and research, recreational and leisure activities and a forest adventure park.
The Faculty of Sports Sciences and Coaching of this university has 66 faculty members, 250 associate degree students, 1600 undergraduate students, 200 post-graduate students. It enjoys 11 laboratories, including physiology, biomechanics, anatomy, nutrition, 2 measurement laboratories, 2 psychology, pedagogy, rehabilitation laboratories, 2 body building halls, as well as a sports rehabilitation service center and a Malaysian athletes development center.
The facilities of sports centers include a boating lake, an Olympic-size swimming pool, a cricket field, a sports stadium, football fields (1 standard and 2 training), 2 squash courts, 5 tennis courts, several badminton courts, 2 gymnasiums, 2 body building halls, 2 special halls for handball and futsal, volleyball and Sepak Takraw, open training fields, a bowling hall, and an archery training center.
