Iranology knowledge-enhancement course held for young Russian professors

A knowledge-enhancement course on "Iranology" for a group of young professors from the Ufa State University of Science and Technology in Russia was organized by the Faculty of Economics and Political Science at Shahid Beheshti University (SBU).
A delegation of young professors from Ufa State University of Science and Technology (Republic of Bashkortostan, Russia) participated in a knowledge-enhancement course at SBU from May 26 to June 8, 2024. This course was conducted based on an agreement between the two universities.
The Russian delegation consisted of five professors specializing in history, public policy, and social sciences who attended the Iranology course conducted by the faculty of Economics and Political Science in English, Russian, and Persian, and engaged in dialogue and exchange of ideas with the professors, students, and scientific associations of the faculty within the framework of the workshops, meetings, and specialized discussions.
Accordingly, the following workshops were conducted during the course: "Political Economy of Iran" workshop by Dr. Izadkhasti; the "Foundations and Orientations of Iran's Foreign Policy" workshop by Dr. Haj Yusefi; the "Islamic Movements in the Middle East" workshop by Dr. Khorasani; the "Politics and Government in Iran" and "Iran-Russia Relations" workshops by Dr. Nouri; the "Women and Politics in Iran" workshop by Dr. Keikhah; the "Iran-U.S. Relations" workshop by Dr. Masoudi; the "Religion and Politics in Iran" workshop by Dr. Hosseinizadeh; and the "Iran-China Relations" workshop by Dr. Shariatinia.
The purpose of these workshops and specialized meetings was to familiarize young Russian scholars with various internal and external issues of Iran presented within the Iranology workshop framework. Besides striving to present the realities of Iran's issues, efforts were made to analyze Iran-Russia relations and identify and highlight new areas of cooperation between the two countries.
