Dr. Seyed Mahmoud Reza Aghamiri, the president of Shahid Beheshti University, participated in the international conference titled, "Natural Resources and Sustainable Development" in Russia.
In this trip, which was made at the invitation of the president of Catherine the Great Mining University in Saint Petersburg, Russia, Dr. Abtahi, the Director of International Scientific Cooperation of the university, was also present.
The president of Shahid Beheshti University met with Professor Vladimir Stefanovich Litvinenko, the president of Saint Petersburg Mining University of Russia, on Tuesday evening, October 16, 2024. In this meeting, discussions were held regarding the expansion of joint cooperation in the areas of education and research.
Dr. Aghamiri and his accompanying delegation also visited the Stone Museum and some laboratories of the Saint Petersburg Mining University in Russia.
On October 17, the president of the university participated in the opening ceremony of the international conference titled, "Natural Resources and Sustainable Development." Representatives from more than 50 countries attended this ceremony. The president of Shahid Beheshti University, as one of the invited speakers, took part in the first panel discussion alongside nine distinguished scientists and senior officials from Russia, where he shared his views and perspectives during his speech.
It is worth mentioning that Saint Petersburg Mining University of Russia, which was established around 270 years ago, is among the oldest universities in Russia and is currently one of the thirty national universities of Russia. According to the Times University Ranking, Saint Petersburg Mining University ranks third in the world among specialized universities in the field of mining.
