The books “Collection of Pre-sessions” (one volume) and “A Collection of Essays” (three volumes, namely Corona and Ethical Issues; Corona and Theological Issues; and Corona and Interdisciplinary Issues) of the First International Conference on Ethics, Theology and Pandemic Diseases Focusing on the Coronavirus Pandemic was published in electronic form by SBU Press through the efforts of professors of the Faculty of Theology and Religions.
With the wide and rapid spread of the corona pandemic and its multifaceted consequences in various fields, the scientific and academic centers attempted to investigate the most important moral, theological, cultural, political and economic issues and challenges, providing solutions for them, and thereby helping to solve the country's problems and restore peace, hope and vitality to the people.
The global scourge of coronavirus with its wide and complex consequences for different levels of life has aroused a heavy sense of responsibility in the scientific and academic institutions as well as seminary elites to discuss and exchange opinions in a scientific, deep and accurate way to solve the relevant problems and reduce their consequences.
In this regard, the Faculty of Theology and Religions of SBU held the International Conference on Ethics, Theology and Pandemic Diseases Focusing on the Coronavirus Pandemic in August 2020, in order to identify and explain the most important ethical, theological, cultural, political and economic issues and challenges, provide solutions, and finally help to restore peace, hope and vitality to the people.
This conference was held with the scientific participation of twenty scientific, academic and seminary institutions and presentation of valuable essays by domestic and foreign scholars in several areas. In order to benefit more from the results of this collective scientific effort, the contributions of the conference were then published in the form of a three-volume collection and made available to interested people and scholars.
The first volume contains essays organized and presented in three chapters: "Coronavirus and Medical Ethics Issues", "Coronavirus and Political Ethics Issues" and "Coronavirus and Religious Ethics and Philosophical Ethics Issues".
The essays presented in the second volume are also presented in two chapters: " Corona and Faithful Life during Widespread Disasters" and "Corona and Theoretical Theological-Philosophical Issues".
The third volume is organized in two chapters. The first chapter contains essays about "Corona; interdisciplinary Issues and Social and Economic Consequences" and the final chapter presents the international essays of the conference.
On the sidelines of this international conference, 11 different scientific pre-sessions were held with the participation of scholars from Iran and the world, in order to provide a clear explanation of the most important ethical and theological issues and challenges caused by the corona pandemic, on the one hand, and to provide an opportunity for expressing scientific ideas and theories for seminary and university scholars and experts and as a result, to provide suitable materials for various scientific and executive institutions of the country, on the other hand. The results of these pre-sessions have been compiled in the form of a book.
