The ceremony commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ (PBUH) and the beginning of the New Year was held with the presence of Prof. Aghamiri, president of Shahid Beheshti University, and Sahak Khosravian, representative of the Archbishop of Armenian church in Tehran, was held at SBU on Wednesday, January 4, 2023.
This ceremony was attended by representatives of the Archbishop of Armenian church in Tehran, some members of the university board, and some Christian faculty members and students of the university. Congratulating the beginning of the new year and the birth anniversary of Christ, Dr. Aghamiri said: “I congratulate the birth of the prophet of kindness and peace to all Christians, especially the Christian professors and students of Shahid Beheshti University, and I hope peace and tranquility spread in the world in the new year.”
Sahak Khosravian expressed his gratitude to the university officials for organizing this ceremony and expressed his hope that the new year will be full of goodness, mercy and compassion for the people of the world, especially Iranians.
Dr. Ani Mirzakhanian, a representative of the Armenian church in Tehran, also congratulated the New Year and the birth of Christ, and explained about the Armenians and Assyrians of Iran.
Next, Dr. Badlians Gholi Kandi, faculty member of the Faculty of Civil, Water and Environmental Engineering, Dr. Shant Shahbazian, a faculty member of the Faculty of Chemistry and Petroleum Sciences, and some Christian students present at the ceremony shared their views with the president of the university and the board members.
