The "Persian Prime" series, written by Mahin-Naz Mirdehghan Farashah, an associate professor at the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences at Shahid Beheshti University (SBU), and colleagues has been released recently by SBU Press in twelve volumes.
"Persian Prime" is part of a comprehensive program for teaching Persian to non-Persian speakers, designed as an engaging series to teach the four main skills of the Persian language to adult non-Persian speakers.
The series is organized into six levels: "A1," "A2," "B1," "B2," "C1," and "C2," consisting of two books for each level—a textbook and workbook and a teacher’s book—making a total of twelve books.
The aim of the "Persian Prime" series is to provide practical and effective Persian language education to enthusiastic learners. Consequently, it includes a variety of content and a wide range of speaking activities, guiding learners from the basic levels (A1 and A2) to the intermediate levels (B1 and B2), and then to the advanced levels (C1 and C2).
Each educational level of "Persian Prime" includes a "textbook” and a “workbook", with the workbook following the textbook for easy access.
Each textbook, structured into four lessons, is divided into six sections, starting with a "Mental Preparation" section to introduce the topics and generate interest, and ending with a "Review and Exercise" section for quick study and real-world language application. Additionally, each textbook includes supplementary materials such as "Faraznama," which follows each textbook focusing on each section with images and comprehensive activities aimed at "further conversation," and "An Overview of the Persian Alphabet," which is included at the beginning of the "A1 Textbook and Workbook" to prepare learners for the learning process. In "Faraznama," there is a brief overview of the alphabet and practical exercises to prepare learners for the Persian language learning process. This supplement also has separate lesson and exercise sections.
Each textbook in the "Persian Prime" series is accompanied by a workbook, divided into six sections, each containing four lessons. The first lesson of each section focuses on vocabulary and grammar exercises, the second on interaction exercises, the third again on vocabulary and grammar, and the fourth on reading exercises. The workbook serves as either classroom work or homework.
In addition to the two mentioned books, the "Teacher's Book" is prepared in seven chapters with all necessary details for step-by-step instruction of the various parts of the series, guiding instructors in teaching Persian. The teacher's book is designed so that even inexperienced Persian language teachers can easily conduct successful lessons using practical tips and teaching methods for each part of the book.
