Simultaneously with the beginning of the Elcomp exhibition, the self-driving robot car, a joint project of Shahid Beheshti University and Mobile Telecommunication Company of Iran, was unveiled in the presence of the Minister of Communications and Information Technology.
The opening ceremony of the 26th Elecomp International Exhibition (Elecomp 2023) was held on the morning of Sunday, June 25, 2023 at the permanent location of Tehran International Exhibitions with the presence of Dr. Issa Zarepour, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Dr. Rouhollah Dehghani Firouzabadi, Vice-President for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, Dr. Seyed Mohammad Amin Aghamiri, President of the National Cyberspace Center and also guests from foreign countries.
Simultaneously with Dr. Zarepour's visit to the exhibition hall No. 35 where the Mobile Telecommunication Company group was present, the "self-driving car robot" project was unveiled. This project is being carried out by the Robotics Laboratory of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering (Electronics - Communication) of Shahid Beheshti University and with the support and guidance of the Research and Development Center of the Mobile Telecommunication Company. During this visit, Dr. Zarepour called for more dedicated space to present this achievement at the country level, especially for the youth.
This robot is a fully self-driving car in one-tenth of real dimensions with the ability to maintain movement between road lanes, recognize traffic signs, traffic lights, static and moving obstacles, perform automatic parking and find locations.
The members of the Robotics Laboratory of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering (Electronics - Communication) consist of Farbod Younesi, Mohsen Sharifi, Soroush Keivanfard, Erfan Amouzad Khalili, Mohammad Ghodrati, Mana Hatamzadeh, Kiarash Ghasemzadeh, Mohammad Reza Jafari, Amirreza Akrami Fard, Mehdi Khaksar, Hossein Gohari, Saba Sadeghi and Amirhossein Kheiri. Dr. Mohammad Hossein Moayeri, a faculty member of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering is in charge of this laboratory.
